What is a 4Runner? The 4Runner is a midsize SUV built in the San Antonio , Texas , assembly plant, and sold worldwide by Toyota . The 2026 4Runner is a midsize, body on frame SUV. It is designed for rugged capability, with a length of approximately 194.9" inches, a width of 77.9" inches, and a height of 73.1" inches. It is available with either 2 rows with 5 seats, or 3 rows with 7 seats. The 2026 model represents a complete redesign of the truck platform shared with the new Toyota Land Cruiser and Tacoma pickup truck.

 

The 2026 Toyota 4Runner is the second model year of the redesigned 6th generation rugged SUV, featuring a 2.4L liter turbocharged 4 cylinder gas engine with 278 HP horsepower, or a 326 hp hybrid i-FORCE MAX option, available in up to 9 trims. It has a full body on frame platform with 10.1" inches of ground clearance, optional 3rd row seating, and advanced off road technology, starting at around $41,500.

The 4Runner maintains its reputation for durability while enhancing comfort and technology, making it suitable for both daily driving and serious off road adventures. To prove that point, this week Toyota sent me a 4Runner to test drive and review. The base window sticker price for this 2026 TRD Off Road Premium Edition is $55,770. The options on the SUV are: the front powder coated TRD logo skid plate for $560, the retractable rear cargo cover for $135, the Toyota rear matte black badge inserts for $65, the black chrome wheel locks for $90, and the 3 years of connected and remote connect services for $325. The manufacturer's suggested retail price, MSRP, including the $1,495 delivery charge is: $58,440,

 

After adding in the state and local sales tax, plus the DMV and dealer fees, the out the door and in your driveway total purchase price came to $65,745. At just 255 bucks under $66 Grand you get a midsize 3 row off road premium trimmed SUV that gets 19 MPG city, 25 MPG highway, and 21 MPG in combined driving, that can take you just about anywhere in style, comfort and capability.

 

The 2026 Toyota 4Runner has a base manufacturer's suggested retail price starting around $41,500 for the entry level SR5 grade, excluding the delivery, processing, and handling fees. The lineup includes 9 trims with prices ranging up to $68,200 for the top tier models.
